Diane "Dyan" G. Rook
(Incumbent)

Why are you running?
As a trustee I remain committed to keeping the library relevant and inclusive. I will be an advocate for adequate funding for services, personnel and increased hours: due to budgeting issues we have lost a librarian in the elementary schools so we will need to provide services that may have been lost.
Bio
My husband and I moved to Wrentham 46 years ago. When I retired after 34 years of teaching art in public schools, I decided that it was time to give back to our community.
I ran for the position of library trustee and have enjoyed serving on the board since. Libraries have always been an enjoyable and necessary part of my life. I worked in libraries throughout high school and college and later as a research assistant in the library of the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. I have witnessed how libraries have become more than just a repository for books. I believe that the library is and should be a community center for a wide range of multi-generational opportunities, both educational and recreational. At the Fiske we offer a multitude of services. You can renew your passport, borrow a metal detector from the Library of Things, take a yoga class, enjoy children and adult programs and much more.
