Michael E. Hayek

Why are you running?
I’m running for the school committee position because I am striving for transparency, keeping our kids safe, and ensuring kids remain kids. I would like to serve our children and be a voice for our parents and our community; access to excellent schools were a key reason why we moved to Wrentham nearly 8 years ago and I look forward to have a hand in shaping policy and budget to ensure students receive the best possible education.
Bio
I am a proud father of three boys (ages 6, 4, and 2). My oldest is a 1st grader at Delaney. I’ve been a Wrentham resident since 2017, when I moved here with my wife when we were ready to start a family. My wife Jenna grew up in Wrentham and we knew this is where we wanted to lay down our roots. I’m an aerospace engineer and have over 17 years of corporate experience. I would leverage my professional experience working in teams to come to a consensus and do what is best for our children. I am also an assistant den leader for the Wrentham Pack 131 cub scouts and an assistant volunteer hockey coach. I have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Masters degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
